An Upside-Down Look At Classrooms - Flipped Classroom

 Hello my friends,

Today I want to talk to you about 'flipped classrooms'. Flipped classrooms are the opposite of the traditional classrooms. In traditional classrooms, students learn at the school and do the practice at home via homeworks. This is time consuming and the place for practice should be the classrooms, not home. So, flipped classrooms make students learn at home via videos, slides, interactive games, and even handouts in places where technology is not common. Then, students come to class and do the practice of what they learned in schools. It is also advantageous for language classrooms because there are a lot of authentic learning materials on the web.

So, me and my friend Simay prepared a flipped classroom video for our Material Design in ELT class. At first, we wanted to use Animaker to prepare our material. The free content on that website was insufficient, so we looked into Moovly. That tool seemed hard to grasp so we decided to do what we do best: Create a video from Canva! I prepared all the video bits and pieces and put my voice recordings on the right places of the video. Simay recorded her voice too and we put those on the video, so, we both talk during the video. Simay prepared four activities for students to do at home via WordWall. WordWall is a fantastic tool to create interactive materials with ease! Lastly, we uploaded our video to YouTube, and put the activities in the description box of our video.

I highly suggest all teachers from all around the world to try doing flipped classroom, at least once in their life! That's all from me today, see you on my next post!
