Digital Storytelling: New Way of Telling Tales

     Hi Friends! This week's task was to do digital storytelling. It was a group project. I immediately messaged my friend Simay if she would like to work with me and she said yes. Then we chose our project type "how to" out of three types of projects. We started to think about what can we create and came up with the idea of "How to stay healthy". Next, we searched for information on the web and shared what we found with each other.

    There were many tools we could use and our professor also shared them with us. We looked at each of them and tried to find the most suitable one for our needs. At first, we thought Pixton was the tool we needed to use but at the last minute we looked more into Canva and tried to decide if Canva could provide us everything we needed. We then decided on using Canva because we could work on our project simultaneously and collaboratively and it was a tool that we used before so we knew the settings and layout of the tool.

    Digital storytelling has some advantages in the language classroom. It makes the use of L2 easier and more enjoyable than regular classrooms. Students think critically and they make researches. It also enhances collaboration and communication among students if it is given as a group project.
