A NEW DIMENSION TO OUR WORLD: AUGMENTED REALITY

We live in a world where everything gets replaced with something that is much more advanced than its predecessor. Real life was not enough for us so we created the computers and the internet to have virtual lives. Some people still was not satisfied though, so they created augmented reality: the place where virtual and real life emerge into one.

In this task, me and my partner Simay were asked to create an augmented reality acitivity for our students. In this activity, we are supposed to find a city, and create a "5 most important things about this city" kind of worksheet. We chose Moscow and we included one food, one museum, and three sightseeings from Moscow. Students are expected to use their phones to read QR codes and explore the items in the worksheets through 360 videos. Then, they will answer some questions based on what they watched. Lastly, they will write an e-mail to their friends about the experiences they had in Moscow.

This was not an easy task, as there are not many free and properly working apps on the market. So, we had to find 360 videos on the web. This was not easy either, because we are looking for specific places in a specific city, in 360 format. Luckily, we managed to find three 360 videos on YouTube. We prepared our worksheets on Canva, as usual. It is the best tool for creating posters, worksheets, and even videos! I will definitely talk about AR to my students and make them create tasks based on AR!
