Farewell...
Dear Friends,
We have come to that part of the term: The End.
It is incredible how quickly this term has passed. We had just begun working on our first project and now it's time to say goodbye. I will now mention some bullet points about this course.
- This is an amazing course in the sense that It takes advantage of technology much more than any other course. Students are done with classic classrooms and techniques. The only weakness of this course I can imagine is the lack of means to use technological devices such as VR headsets, and even that is not really the weakness of this course; rather the priciness of these technologies.
- Creating videos with animations was the hardest thing I've done related to technology use. You have to find free tools, they come with their own affordances and limits, you add text and audio to the video, they need to appear on the video at the same time, and there needs to be synchronization.
- The Corpus project was my least favorite. It seems just too outdated and hard to grasp and use. My favorite one was the augmented reality project. Searching for 360 videos was so fun and it made me see a few sightseeings even if in AR.
- If developers can make a corpus that has a modern design and is easy to use, I will reconsider using it.
- For those who will take this course next year, make sure as soon as you are assigned a task, start doing it. When it's time to show your draft to the teacher, it becomes so easy for you to finalize your task with the feedback of the teacher.
- This course is one of the most important ones in ELT. There is no escape from technology and new tools, so you better get used to them and take advantage of them to create meaningful tasks for your students. I've learned many tools and task ideas from this course which contributes to my professional development.
Thank you all for reading my blog all this time. I hope to see you again hopefully, goodbye...
